Henrietta CAMMISA
Henrietta Cammisa died in West Palm Beach, Florida, on February 17, 2019, after a short illness. A native Staten Islander, Henrietta was married to Anthony “Zeke” Cammisa for fifty-eight years. Together they raised five children.
In 1980, Henrietta joined The New York Public Library staff as an office aide at the Stapleton Branch Library. She was promoted in 1985 to the position of secretary in the Staten Island Borough Office. In 1988, she was promoted to library administrative associate. This was a position she loved; her knowledge of Staten Island was invaluable. During her tenure, two branches opened: Huguenot Park and Todt Hill. On the Todt Hill opening day, she arranged an appearance by the winning football team from Wagner College so they could sign up for library cards.
After her retirement in 1995, Henrietta and Zeke relocated to Lake Ariel, PA. Henrietta was an avid reader. She enjoyed her seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was active in a variety of social groups including the golf league, the bowling league, and the Ladies Who Lunch.
