Pauline CAPPELLINI
We have learned that Pauline Cappellini died at her home in Magnolia, Arkansas, on December 17, 2014. She was 89 at the time of her death. A native Staten Islander, Pauline divided her time in retirement between Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, and Magnolia.
Prior to her NYPL career, Pauline worked as a cartographer for the War Department during World War II, a legal secretary, and a freelance fashion illustrator. For many years, Pauline was a Senior Clerk at several Staten Island branches. She worked at the Tottenville Branch and ran the Prince's Bay and Huguenot Park Branches.
After her retirement in 1988, Pauline volunteered for the Mountain Top Food Bank and enjoyed painting, gardening, and sailing. She is survived by a son Steven Cappellini, a daughter Paula Woldan, and a large family which includes her sister Alberta Muir, who is also an NYPL retiree.
