Phyllis CURRENT
Phyllis began her NYPL career on July 1, 1952. During her first year, she started the circulating record library at the St. George Library Center on Staten Island. She also initiated “Music, History, and Ideas,” a record and book discussion group at St. George. She ensured that St. George was ready with multiple copies of operas being performed each season at the Metropolitan Opera. Her work with record collections included classification and cataloging. She worked closely with the heads of similar collections at Fordham, Donnell, and The Library for the Performing Arts, where she also worked for a time. Phyllis retired on October 1, 1984.
