Lucidia GRATACOS
We are sorry to report that Lucidia Gratacos Arus died on June 7, 2015.
In her native Puerto Rico, Luci worked in the University of Puerto Rico Library System. She began her NYPL career at the Fordham Library Center, serving in a number of positions, including Senior Librarian and Supervising Librarian in the Bronx Reference Center. In 2006, she became the Supervising Librarian of the Latino and Puerto Rican Cultural Center and the Adult Education Information Center at the newly opened Bronx Library Center. She developed the Center's Spanish collection and served on several system-wide Spanish book committees.
After her retirement in 2010, Luci continued to live in the Bronx. She is remembered as a trainer and mentor to the many staff who worked with her. She is survived by her daughter and family.
