She began her 25 year NYPL career at Kingsbridge where she served as Senior Clerk and Clerical Supervisor for the Bronx Northwest Region. She quickly embraced technology and was a member of the team which taught computer and automated circulation skills to the staff. Margaret retired on July 25, 1995.
She continued to read a book a day in retirement and became a Scrabble fan when eyesight issues intervened. She is survived by five children, including NYPL retiree Anne Hofmann, as well as a very large extended family in the United States, Ireland, and other locations abroad.
