Angeline MOSCATT
Angeline Moscatt died on February 21, 2018, at the age of 91.
Angeline had a 40 year career at NYPL which included positions at various branches, including Seward Park, Tompkins Square, Jefferson Market, and St. George. In 1967, she became the Supervising Librarian of the Central Children’s Room which was located at the Donnell Library Center. Angeline held that position until her retirement on August 1, 1997. Angeline was known for her in depth knowledge of children’s literature and and unflagging enthusiasm for public service.
Angeline was active in DC37/Local 1930 throughout her time at NYPL. She was an enthusiastic Retirees Association member who served on several Association committees, including the Oral History Advisory Committee. She recorded an oral history interview on June 24, 2000.
Angeline was born in New York to Sicilian immigrant parents. She is survived by her brother, Paul, sister-in-law, Carlene, and numerous nieces and nephews. We are enclosing a link to a fuller obituary which Carlene shared with us.
