Jean WEST
Jean West died at the age of 78 on December 27, 2014 in Cape May, NJ. Jean and her family relocated to Cape May in 1993, when she retired after a 25 year career. She joined the Library in 1968, working in a variety of positions at SADPO, NYPL's first computer technology department. She then spent eleven years at the Office of Branch Libraries, serving initially as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director and subsequently to the Director.
A native of Washington, DC, Jean was a gifted artist who taught water colors and ceramics in the Cape May area. She was interviewed in June 2013 for the Oral History Project of the Retirees Association.
