Sharon FROST
Sharon Frost, was a longtime NYPL employee who worked at the Picture Collection in the late 1960s and retired from the Photography Division many years later. During her long career, she also worked at the Yorkville Library. An artist, a selection of Sharon’s works may be viewed at: https://www.sharonfrost.net/.
Sharon’s husband, Stephen Wagner (himself an NYPL retiree), posted this remembrance of Sharon on her Facebook page:
To all the friends of Sharon: I am sad to report that she died (she loathed the euphemism "passed away") Friday morning, January 5, at approximately 2am. It was an unfortunate confluence of the latest strain of Covid with her already severely damaged heart. On Thursday evening the two of us were talking, discussing how we could get a Paxlovid prescription after her doctors' offices had closed for the night. Then without warning she just shut down. One moment she was there; the next she was gone. First the EMT crew and later the team at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital did everything they could to save her, but they were unable to revive her. At least her end was sudden and not protracted. As far as I could tell, she did not suffer. Sharon hated obsequies and was determined to have none. So there will be no ceremonies. Instead, what I know she would have liked would be for all her friends to raise a glass in her memory. Adiós chica...
