POLONSKY EXHIBITION OF THE NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY'S TREASURES
Please join the Retirees Association for a tour of the “Polonsky Exhibition of The New York Public Library’s Treasures.” There will be two tours, each beginning at 10:30 am--one on Monday, May 16th, the other on Wednesday, June 8th. They will be led by Keith Glutting, the manager of the Visitor Volunteer Program.
There are nine themes to the exhibition: Beginnings, Explorations, Performance, Fortitude, The Written Word, The Visual World, Childhood, Belief, and New York City. Among the treasures on display are Winnie the Pooh, a lock of Beethoven’s hair, a letter written by Columbus, photographs of New York over the years, and cuneiform tablets.
Each tour will be limited to fifteen people, so please respond by May 1st if you want a place. Call or e-mail our Program Chair, Estelle Friedman, with your preferred date. Estelle can be reached at or (718) 543-9060 or efriedman14@optimum.net. You can also RSVP via the Association e-mail, retireesnypl@gmail.com.
