NYPLRA Annual Luncheon 2024

The NYPL Retirees Association is thrilled to announce that after a pandemic-caused hiatus of four years, we will again be dining together on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 12:00-3:00 pm. We are also happy to report that the cost is the same as it was in 2018—$65, tax and tip included—a minor miracle in this day of constantly rising prices.

We will be going to Gennaro, a popular neighborhood restaurant that serves “honest Italian [food] at fair prices” (NY Magazine).It is located at 665 Amsterdam Avenue, just south of 93rd Street. There is an M7/M11 bus stop just across 93rd from it; the crosstown bus, M96, is three blocks away; and the 1, 2, and 3 trains have a 93rd Street exit from the 96th Street station. It is an accessible station.

Antipasti (choice of):
Branzino carpaccio crudo 
Burrata with Roasted Tomato
Kale salad with pine nuts, currants, and ricotta salata
Eggplant Parmigiana
 
Main Course (choice of):
Rigatoni with eggplant, tomato and oven-dried ricotta
Grilled Salmon with honey mustard sauce
Slowly Braised Lambshank over pearled couscous
Braised Organic Chicken with almonds, currants, and Arugula Salad
 
Dessert (choice of):
Flourless Chocolate Hazelnut Cake
Tiramisu
Panna Cotta
 
Coffee and tea are included. A cash-only bar will be available for drinks. The restaurant does not accept credit cards. This lovely restaurant has been on the Upper West Side since 1996.
