Miriam RABINOFF
Miriam Rabinoff passed away in NYC on February 8th, 2014. Miriam worked at NYPL from 1955 to 1989. She worked at Tompkins Square Park Branch, but was better known as Branch Librarian at 58th St. She is survived by two nieces
She lived on 76th St. and Riverside Drive, until 2004 when she suffered a fall in her apartment and was transferred to the Jewish Home and Hospital on 106th St. between Columbus and Amsterdam. Her family knew little about her library career, but said she was a world traveler and enjoyed stylish clothes. Her niece has posted photos of her in Austria in the 1950's at an Officer's Club on NYTimes Legacy.com.

Mary K. Conwell: "The New York Public Library Retirees Association notes the passing of our former colleague. Miriam worked at the Library from 1955 to 1989, and many remember her as a long-time branch librarian at the 58th Street Branch Library in Manhattan. Our sympathy goes to her family."
