Marie E. ZWANZIGER
Marie E. Zwanziger died on July 13, 2015, at the age of 69. She was a resident of Little River, South Carolina, at the time of her death.
Marie was originally from Strawberry Point, Iowa. She attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, and received her Master of Library Science degree from the University of Denver.
Marie joined the Library in 1974. She served in a variety of positions in a number of Staten Island and Manhattan branches. At the time of her retirement in July 2009, she was a librarian at the Mid-Manhattan Library.
Marie was known and admired for her outstanding memory. She remained interested in the arts throughout her life, and frequently attended plays and operas in New York and during her nearly annual trips to London. She was an active member of the Judson Memorial Church in Greenwich Village. After enduring a number of physical problems in the last several years, she relocated to South Carolina in 2014 to be closer to her sister in a warmer climate.
She is survived by her sisters and brother as well as many nieces and nephews.
