Richard Chigley LYNCH
Richard Chigley Lynch died at Beth Israel Hospice in Manhattan on October 28, 2014. Richard, who enjoyed more than twenty-five years of retirement, was born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and found his niche in Greenwich Village, where he lived for many decades at 1 Christopher Street. His long and diverse career at NYPL included work in many Bronx branches, at the Donnell Education Library, as Assistant Branch Librarian at Jefferson Market, and in both the Circulating and Research divisions of the Performing Arts Library at Lincoln Center, where his final position was as Assistant Curator of the Billy Rose Theatre Collection. His books include Musicals: A Directory of Properties Available for Production; Broadway on Record; Movie Musicals on Record; Musicals: A Complete Selection Guide for Local Productions; and TV and Studio Musicals on Record.
